When we think about self esteem, we often see it as something fixed, something we either possess or lack. In reality, self esteem is fluid and constantly shifting. It reflects the way we relate to ourselves and the inner parts of us that hold our past experiences.
Our sense of worth is influenced by how our emotional needs were met or left unmet during childhood. When we grew up feeling unseen, unheard, or unsupported, certain parts of us may have formed beliefs such as “I’m not enough” or “I must please others to feel safe.” These parts once worked hard to protect us, but as adults they can lead to self doubt, people pleasing, or difficulty acknowledging our own needs.
Healing begins with awareness and compassion, not only for ourselves as a whole, but also for these individual parts. By noticing our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with gentleness and curiosity, we begin to understand their protective intentions. This allows them to relax and make space for our core Self, the calm, confident, and wise part within, to take the lead.
Building self esteem is not about chasing perfection. It is about reconnecting with our natural worth, embracing every part of who we are, and showing ourselves the care and respect we deserve.

My approach is gentle and calm. I create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space that allows you to bring and explore whatever you feel comfortable with. I tailor my approach to your specific needs and you will decide the pace that works best for you.
I believe that the counseling process is not about providing answers, but rather about collaboratively uncovering the answers that already exist within you. It's a journey of self-exploration, helping to unravel the intricacies of thoughts and emotions, and shining a light on the unseen aspects of your inner world.
I will support you in understanding what might lie underneath your difficulties and together we will identify strategies to help you move forward.
Your challenges can become opportunities for growth, an opportunity to journey towards self-acceptance. My intention is to create a space for you where you can find this acceptance and cultivate a relationship with yourself where all parts of you are welcomed, understood and allowed to be there.
If you resonate with my approach and find yourself grappling with a challenging situation, persistent unhelpful behavior patterns, trauma, depression, ongoing anxiety, or a feeling of inner imbalance, engaging in counseling could be a valuable step toward improving your well-being.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I welcome a 15 minute free phone conversation, which allows us to connect and for you to determine whether you feel comfortable to engage with me.
