Many of us think of self esteem as something we either have or do not. Yet self esteem is not fixed; it is an evolving reflection of how we relate to ourselves and the parts of us that carry our life experiences.
Our sense of self worth often develops from the ways our emotional needs were met or perhaps not met when we were young. If we experienced being unseen, unheard, or unsupported, some parts of us may have created beliefs such as “I’m not good enough” or “I need to please others to feel safe.” These parts once helped us survive, but now they can lead to self doubt, people pleasing, or disconnection from our own needs.
The healing process starts with compassion and awareness. By gently observing the thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that arise within us, we can learn to understand these protective parts and the roles they play. Through this awareness, our authentic Self, the grounded, caring, and wise part of who we are, can begin to lead with clarity and balance.
Cultivating self esteem is not about being perfect. It is about rediscovering our innate worth, welcoming all aspects of ourselves, and learning to treat ourselves with the same kindness and respect we would offer others.

My approach is gentle and calm. I create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space that allows you to bring and explore whatever you feel comfortable with. I tailor my approach to your specific needs and you will decide the pace that works best for you.
I believe that the counseling process is not about providing answers, but rather about collaboratively uncovering the answers that already exist within you. It's a journey of self-exploration, helping to unravel the intricacies of thoughts and emotions, and shining a light on the unseen aspects of your inner world.
I will support you in understanding what might lie underneath your difficulties and together we will identify strategies to help you move forward.
Your challenges can become opportunities for growth, an opportunity to journey towards self-acceptance. My intention is to create a space for you where you can find this acceptance and cultivate a relationship with yourself where all parts of you are welcomed, understood and allowed to be there.
If you resonate with my approach and find yourself grappling with a challenging situation, persistent unhelpful behavior patterns, trauma, depression, ongoing anxiety, or a feeling of inner imbalance, engaging in counseling could be a valuable step toward improving your well-being.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I welcome a 15 minute free phone conversation, which allows us to connect and for you to determine whether you feel comfortable to engage with me.
